Porto, Portugal

Porto adalah kota terbesar kedua di Portugal setelah Lisbon dan tercatat sebagai UNESCO World Heritage Site sejak 1996. Kota ini dalam bahasa Inggris kadang disebut juga Oporto walaupun nama sebenarnya hanya Porto. Huruf O di depan sebenarnya merupakan artikel "O" (seperti "the" dalam bahasa Inggris), yang seharusnya ditulis "o Porto". Pada tahun 2012 dan 2014 Porto menerima award sebagai European Best Destination. Porto memiliki geografi yang berbukit-bukit dengan rumah dan bangunan di tebing yang menghadap danau. Jadi, bisa dibilang kota Porto ini sangat picturesque, terutama area old town-nya, Ribeira.

Cuaca

Waktu terbaik untuk mengunjungi Porto adalah antara April dan September, karena di waktu inilah cuacanya cukup hangat dan cerah. Musim panas berlangsung dari Juni sampai September dengan suhu pada siang hari antara 23°C dan 26°C, adakalanya juga mencapai 38°C, sedangkan pada malam hari sekitar 15°C. Desember sampai Mai merupakan musim dingin dengan suhu siang hari antara 13°C dan 17°C, dan sekitar 5°C pada malam hari. Secara singkat, Porto memiliki musim panas yang hangat dan umumnya kering, serta musim dingin yang agak dingin dan basah.

Tips: Jika traveling di luar musim panas jangan lupa bawa payung atau jas hujan karena Porto cukup sering hujan

Transportasi

Bandara

Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport atau Aeroporto do Porto (OPO) terletak 11km dari pusat kota dan merupakan bandara untuk pesawat full-board mau pun low-cost carrier. Cara paling mudah dan murah untuk menuju pusat kota dari bandara adalah dengan metro. Harga tiket untuk sekali jalan zona 4 (Z4) €1.85 + €0.60 untuk kartunya yang bisa di recharge ulang, jadi totalnya €2.45. Stasiun metronya sendiri masih berada di dalam gedung bandara dan penunjuk arahnya cukup jelas di sini. Line metro dari bandara adalah Line E (ungu) dengan arah tujuan Estadio do Dragao dan turun di stasiun Trindade yang terletak langsung di pusat kota. Lama perjalanan sekitar 30 menit. Selain metro ada juga taxi dan bus. Untuk taxi harganya mungkin sekitar €20-30, sedangkan bus memiliki harga yang berbeda-beda tergantung operatornya €3-5.

Kereta

Ada 2 stasiun kereta di Porto, yaitu  São Bento (Saint Benedict) station dan Campanhã. Kereta Intercity dan Alfa Pendular biasanya hanya sampai Campanhã, sedangkan satsiun yang terletak di pusat kota adalah São Bento. Dari Campanhã ke São Bento bisa dengan kereta 'Urbanos' dan memakan waktu hanya 3 menit. Di stasiun juga terdapat locker jika ingin menitip tas sebelum mengeksplor Porto.

Metro

Metro di Porto beroperasi umumnya dari jam 06.00 sampai tengah malam dengan frekuensi 15 - 30 menit. Ada 6 metro line di Porto dengan jangkauan yang cukup luas. Tiket metro sudah terintergrasi dengan bus dan tram melalui Andante Card. Tarif metronya dihitung per-zona. Perjalanan dalam pusat kota Porto dapat dicover dengan tiket zona 2 (Z2). Harga tiketnya €1.20 untuk satu kali jalan dan €4.15 untuk day pass. Tiket Andante Card ini dapat di recharge ulang, jadi setelah penggunaan jangan dibuang. Misalnya saat pembelian pertama dari bandara ke pusat kota adalah €2.45 (€1.85 tarif Z4 dan €0.60 Andante Card), jika ingin melakukan perjalanan lagi untuk jarak Z4 cukup "mengisi" ulang Andante Card tersebut di mesin pembelian tiket dengan membayar €1.85. Andante Card harus divalidasi pada awal setiap perjalanan yang dilakukan atau pun saat mengganti metro line atau bus dan tram. Validasi tiket penting banget karena terkadang ada petugas yang akan memeriksa apakah tiket penumpang valid atau tidak. Jika tiket tidak valid atau bahkan tidak memiliki tiket, maka harus siap membayar penalty €95. Satu hal lagi yang penting diketahui soal Andante Card. Kartu ini memiliki sistem "locked", jadi seumpama di dalamnya terdapat tiket  day pass Z2 yang dalam keadaan aktif, maka jika tiba-tiba harus membeli tiket single trip Z4 diperlukan Andante Card baru. Tetapi jika masa aktif day pass nya sudah selesai, maka kartu bisa diisi lagi dengan jenis tiket yang kita mau.

Bus

Operator untuk bus dalam kota adalah SCTP (Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto, SA), sedangkan untuk ke area suburban tidak semua bus dioperasikan oleh SCTP, melainkan sebagian oleh private companies. Nomor line bus terdiri dari 3 digit dengan dingit pertama menunjukkan zona tujuan (2-west porto, 3-north porto, 4-east porto, 5-matosinhos, 6-maia, 7-valongo, 8-gondomar, 9-vila nova de gaia). Contohnya line nomor 906 tujuan adalah vila nova de gaia. Untuk tiket yang digunakan bisa dengan Andante Card atau tiket khusus SCTP. Andante Card tentunya lebih direkomendasikan karena bisa digunakan juga untuk metro, tram, dan kereta suburban. Pengisian Andante Card bisa dilakukan di stasiun metro atau newspaper stall yang ada logo "payshop". Di dalam bus ada layar yang akan menunjukkan perhentian selanjutnya, jadi tidak perlu takut kelewatan halte.

Funicular dos Guindais

Semacam kereta gantung yang menghubungkan Ribeira dan Batalha square di pusat kota. Andante Card juga bisa digunakan untuk furnicular. Tarifnya €2.50, boleh dicoba jika ingin melihat Porto dengan sudut pandang lain ditambah dengan sensasi pengalaman baru.

Tips: Porto sangat mudah untuk dieksplor dengan jalan kaki. Jika stamina ok, siap naik turun bukit, maka saya sarankan jalan kaki aja, terutama kalo cuma di pusat kota doank. Semua tempat wisata within walking distance. Lumayan hemat beberapa euro bisa buat jajan^^
